It was a busy 2010 for three-time Triple Crownwinner Jake 7DeLuXWilkins (pictured), who hails from Orlando, Florida. Not only did he earn a Triple Crown in eight hours, but he also closed out the calendar year by winning the $25,000 Super Stack Early Antes on Full Tilt Pokerfor $19,000. Armed with over $1 million in earnings from tournaments tracked for the PocketFives.com Online Poker Rankingsover the course of his career, he’s looking to make an equally loud splash in 2011. This week, he’s our featured guest on the PocketFives.com Podcast.

He told PocketFives.com that he has multiple goals on tap for 2011: “My goal is to get back to where I belong. In my opinion, I belong playing the biggest and best tournaments in the world and I was a card away from winning the WSOP Circuit $5K in Atlantic City. My goal is to get back to the World Series, play everything in the world, travel the world, and maybe make $1 million this year.”

Wilkins did not make it to the Bahamas for the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, which is currently being held at the Atlantis Resort and Casino on Paradise Island: “My schedule is pretty much to go with the flow. I’ll probably be at the World Series. I played the Florida Millions a couple of weeks ago down in Fort Lauderdale, which was a great experience.”

Wilkins hails from Florida, which recently saw its poker limits raised and is undergoing a miniature poker renaissance. We asked our guest who the top player from the Sunshine State is and it took him all of a few seconds to answer: “This is a no-brainer. I’m going to go Adam RoothlusLevy (pictured) until the day I die. That guy helped me more than anyone else. Anyone who knows Adam knows he’s one of the nicest guys in poker.” Levy is a longtime member of the online poker community and sponsored pro of UB.com.

Every poker player has leaks in their game. Wilkins, however, has a strong desire to improve and has sought the aid of several of the game’s top players, including Ryan HITTHEPANDA Franklin (pictured): “My biggest leak [was] post-flop play and playing multiple streets. I got some coaching from HITTHEPANDA in the last couple of months. All it took was one lesson from him to help out my starting game and open up my game a lot more. If anybody is out there questioning whether they want coaching or not, it’s never a bad idea.”

Wilkins has also received pointers from Jennifear, who has touched the lives of a variety of poker players on PocketFives.com. He recalled, “If there’s one person I can attribute my Turbo game to, it’s Jennifear. She opened my eyes to things. The things she’s done have been amazing. She’s a great woman who I hopefully will be able to meet one day.”

Wilkins has expanded his repertoire of poker games to include Pot Limit Omaha, a game he speaks fondly of. On his newfound excitement for Pot Limit Omaha, Wilkins told the PocketFives.com Podcast, “I love Pot Limit Omaha. It’s probably one of the greatest games ever created. It’s so fun to me. I tell people that if I’m trying to make money, I play No Limit Hold’em. If I’m playing for fun, I play Pot Limit Omaha.”

Wilkins’ largest cash tracked by PocketFives.com came in January 2009, when he chopped a $215 buy-in tournament on UB.com for $38,000. Check out the rest of this week’s PocketFives.com Poker Podcast. Also, check out Wilkins’ bonus podcast.
