The $10 million guaranteed Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open in Hollywood, Florida wrapped up on Wednesday. The mammoth 2,300-player, $5,000 buy-in tournament featured a heads-up showdown between two longtime members of the online poker community, with World Series of Poker bracelet winner Blair blur5f6 Hinkle (pictured) coming away with the title and a healthy $1.7 million.

Heads-up play between Hinkle and Justin ZeeJustin Bonomo began on Hand #59 and the two were virtually even in chips. Hinkle got off to an early lead, ultimately taking a 2:1 chip edge within 20 hands. However, Bonomo won seven straight pots at one point to bring the stacks close to where they started.

On the 96th hand of final table play, Hinkle showed 5-4 on a board of 6-7-8-5-8 for a straight, but Bonomo tabled K-9 for a higher straight. Bonomo shot out to nearly a 3:1 lead as a result. Thirty hands later, Bonomo had extended his advantage to 5:1.

At one point, Bonomo told Seminole Hard Rock staff that he had been planning to hit the jet stream to Barcelona on Wednesday: “The reason I flew here was for a two-leg trip, this and Barcelona, and the appeal to me was the $100K here and the $50K in Barcelona. My flight to Barcelona was today… so plans have changed. Things work out great. You can never expect a $1 million cash.”

Instead of playing in the $100K WPT event in Florida, Bonomo final tabled the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open Main Event. His reward was more money than he would have won had he taken down the WPT $100K Alpha8 event.

On the 186th hand of final table play, Hinkle doubled up after his aces held against Q-9. The money went in on a flop of 10-9-7, and a running 7-6 ensured Hinkle stayed alive. He promptly took the chip lead after betting 7 million on a board of A-4-3-5-6 and getting Bonomo(pictured) to fold.

Bonomo and Hinkle battled back and forth from there until Hinkle scooped a pot with 5-4 on a board of 10-4-2-Q-5 for a rivered two pair. Bonomo mucked and Hinkle vaulted out in front with better than a 4:1 chip lead. That advantage then grew to 6:1.

On the final hand of the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open, Bonomo check-raised all-in on a board of Q-9-5-J. Hinkle insta-called with K-10 for the nuts, leaving Bonomo drawing dead with a pair of queens. Hinkle won a posh guitar and $1.7 million, while Bonomo earned $1.1 million for second place. The latter Tweeted, “TY so much tweeps! This is the biggest score of my poker career! On Cloud 9.”
