Aussie sensation Jackie Glazier(pictured), who was the Last Woman Standing in this year’s World Series of Poker Main Event in Las Vegas, churned up waves on the other side of “The Pond” in Paris, France. Glazier won the €1,100 WSOP Europe Ladies Event and booked a payday of €21,850. She was the lone non-French player in the top five. This was the first ever Ladies Event held as part of WSOP Europe and the first bracelet awarded at this year’s European poker series.

“This means so much to me,” Glazier told 888 Poker officials following the tournament. “I plan to make this the first bracelet of many. Hopefully, I can do the same in the Main. Thank you for all the support from my Team members at 888 and, of course, my family and friends. Time for champagne!” Glazier is a member of Team 888 Poker.

There were 65 players in the Ladies Event and the top seven made the money. In the final pot of the tournament, France’s Maryline Valente 3bet all-in before the flop and showed pocket sixes, but Glazier had her dominated with pocket jacks. Neither player improved and Glazier captured her first WSOP bracelet.

Glazier took secondto Greg gspot_17 Ostrander in a $3,000 No Limit Hold’em tournament during the 2012 WSOP and scooped $458,000. This year, she drove to a 31st place finish in the WSOP Main Event as the last female standing in the tournament and booked a payday of $229,000. She is up to just short of $800,000 in career WSOP cashes.

Itai Pazner, Senior Vice President of 888, lauded, “We couldn’t be more proud for Jackie. She is an integral part of our team at 888 Poker and a great representation for women who enjoy the game. We hope for many more successes in this year’s WSOPE.”

The 2013 WSOP Europe schedule continues this week, with the €10,450 Main Event starting next Saturday.
