The Poker Hall of Fame came calling Monday afternoon and two of the most respected players of their generation answered. Jennifer Harman and John Juanda (pictured) were named as the Class of 2015 and will be inducted during a ceremony on November 6.

The pair were among ten players nominated over the summer by the public. Those ten names were then presented to living Poker Hall of Famers and a select group of media to be voted on over the last six weeks.

Harman, who has $2.7 million in lifetime tournament earnings but may be more known for her cash game success including big wins against Andy Beal, is just the third woman in the PHOF, joining Barbara Enright and Linda Johnson.

“It’s truly an honor to be selected into the PHOF,” said Harman. “Poker has been an unbelievable journey for me and to have the respect of my peers is truly amazing. I want to thank everyone for the amazing support.”

Juanda, who was born in Indonesia, becomes just the third Asian-born inductee. In hearing about being inducted, Juanda thanked the fans and voters for the honor and listed some of the players who have gone in front of him.

“It’s an honor to see my name among so many players I have admired and respected throughout my career: Chip Reese, Erik Seidel, Dan Harrington, Daniel Negreanu,” said Juanda, who won the EPT Barcelona Main Event in August. “Thank you to all the fans who nominated me and to the HOF and media members who voted me in.”

Some fans expected David ‘Devilfish’ Ulliott, who passed away earlier this year and was nominated, to be one of the two inductees.

The other seven nominees that were not inducted this year were Chris Bjorin, David Chiu, Bruno Fitoussi, Carlos Mortensen, Max Pescatori, Terry Rogers, Matt Savage and Ulliott. All eight are eligible for nomination again in 2016.

Players that are eligible to be nominated for the first time in 2016 include Phil Ivey and Chris Moneymaker.
