History was made on Christmas, as Sheaterbecame the first Swede ever to ascend to the #1 spot worldwide. He became the third #1 ranked player in the last six weeks, capping off what has been a very mercurial 2013 in the PocketFives Online Poker Rankings.

Sheater rose from #2 to #1 this week on the strength of a deep run in a PokerStars WCOOP Challenge event six days ago for $8,200 and a final table in a $109 No Limit Hold’em Turbo Cubed on the same site for $17,000 on December 15. He has two tracked wins in December and paces the PLB race by 170 points.

Second place worldwide belongs to Chris Big Huni Hunichen, who rose seven spots on the week. Hunichen, who calls Costa Rica home, was the runner-up in the PokerStars $109 No Limit Hold’em Turbo 2X Chance five days ago for $10,000 and won the Super Tuesday on December 17 for over $100,000 officially. The latter victory was worth 738 PLB Points, enough to catapult him up the leaderboard. This is Hunichen’s highest position ever in the PocketFives Rankings.
