The Poker Masters Online kicked off on Sunday, April 12, on partypoker. The series features 30 events and more than $15 million in guaranteed prize money. Sunday saw the first three events take place, with Alex Foxen, Tobias Ziegler, and Elias Talvitie taking the first three titles.

Talvitie Wins Event #1 for $481,250

The first event of the series was the $25,500 NL 8-Max event that had a $1 million guarantee. The tournament drew a field of 55 entries for a prize pool of $1.375 million. The top sevens spots reached the money, and it was Talvitie taking top honors for $481,250.

Talvitie defeated Sergi Reixach in heads-up play. Reixach earned $323,125 for his second-place finish. Ole Schemion finished third for $206,250.

Ziegler Tops Event #2 for $190,249

In the second event of the series, it was Ziegler finishing in first place. Ziegler topped the field of 55 entries to win $190,249.40. This event was a $10,300 PLO 6-Max tournament and it had a $550,000 prize pool to top the $500,000 guarantee.

Ziegler defeated James Akenhead in heads-up play, with Akenhead taking home $123,750. The top nine spots were paid out.

Foxen Victorious in Event #3 for $309,677

Foxen continues to win big and his latest victory came in the third event of the Poker Masters Online. Foxen topped the 99-entry field in the $10,300 NL 6-Max event to win $309.677.94. Foxen beat Artur Martirosian in heads-up play, with Martirosian earning $193,050.

Juan Pardo Dominguez finished in eighth place for $32,175, following upon his seventh-place finish in the first event. Chris Hunichen also cashed in the first event, finishing one spot ahead of Dominguez in that one. He also cashed in this event, taking ninth for $32,175.

This event had a $250,000 guarantee that was crushed with a prize pool of $990,000. The top 12 spots paid.

Championship Standings

The Poker Masters Online Championship Standings will track the performances of players in the series in order to determine an overall winner. Points are awarded based on finishing position in the events, and the overall champion will receive a $50,000 cash prize and be awarded the Poker Masters Purple Jacket.
