Fans of the “Real Housewives” franchise will likely get a kick out of TLC’s “Sin City Rules,” which premiered on Sunday and features former Full Tilt pro and two-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner Jennifer Harman. The show definitely does not skew toward this author’s interests, but I toughed out the 60-minute kickoff episode in order to bring you a recap. It only took two beers and a bowl of cookies and cream ice cream.

“Sin City Rules” follows five well-to-do women from Las Vegas, including Harman. It kicked off on Sunday night at 10:00pm ET following an episode of “Sister Wives” with the tagline, “None of us play by the rules. We make them.” Spooky.

Harman was the third woman introduced. The cast includes rich playgirl Lana Fuchs(pronounced few-ks, not the cuss word), who rolled up to an event during the first episode with a half-dozen little people and an arsenal of bodyguards wearing black shirts that said, “Billionaire.” She is the owner of a clothing line, concierge service, and record label.

Harman was seen during her introduction seated a cash game alongside the likes of Eli Elezra, Mike Matusow, and Brad Booth and told the audience watching the hilarity at home, “I may be a mother and a wife, but what separates me from the rest is I play by my own rules.” Harman pointed out that the most she has won in a single day in a cash game is $500,000, while the most she has ever lost in a day is a little over the same amount. She summarized, “I’m a Pitbull in a Chihuahua’s body.”

Following the canine metaphor, we saw Harman(pictured) head to Lori Montoya‘s house to get all jazzed up for an AFAN fundraiser that night. Harman’s husband, Marco Traniello, is friends with Montoya’s husband and was seen in a significant chunk of the first “Sin City Rules” episode.

Harman told Montoya and Alicia Jacobs (a Vegas entertainment reporter who confessed that she had dated around the majority of the Sin City entertainment community) that she borrowed $25,000 from her grandmother to start playing poker. She picked Vegas over Los Angeles to live, but at age 48, she has yet to fully master poker.

Off to the AFAN event. Harman called it “amazing” and Fuchs showed up with a dozen-man entourage. Fuchs then got on stage, introduced herself as “God,” which got the attention of the Huffington Post in that site’s recap of “Sin City Rules,” and donated $10,000 in an over-sized novelty check straight out of “Happy Gilmore.” Ironically, Harman admitted that she had never heard of Fuchs before: “I play poker. I live in a cave.”

What TLC show would be complete without a shooting party in the Nevada desert catered by the Four Seasons? We can’t make this stuff up. Oh yeah, there were shirtless men there too. Harman and company arrived in a Hummer and told cameras, “Only in Vegas would you throw a party in honor of shooting guns.”

Multiple members of the cast showed up to the gun-toting extravaganza wearing heels, but Traniello was gentlemanly enough to help several of them navigate the uneven terrain. The show cut to a commercial when one of the instructors was seen bleeding from the face like the villain from “Casino Royale.”

While eating, Harman told one of her companions that she had just had a long conversation about drinking blood. She then reiterated, “I don’t feel small and petite, by the way.”

A feud between Jacobs and Fuchs appears to be in the offing for the rest of the season. You can judge for yourself by watching “Sin City Rules” on TLC on Sunday at 10:00pm ET. Check your local listings for details.
