Another decorated member of the PocketFives.com online poker community has joined the DoylesRoom Brunson 10. On Wednesday, it was revealed that Steve gboro780Gross became the sixth member of the crop of up-and-coming online stars hand-selected by the legendary Doyle Brunson. A thread in Poker Discussion immediately popped up congratulating the longtime community member on his latest accomplishment.

In Poker Discussion, the community was buzzing over the news, with PocketFives.com veteran member Wein explaining, “On my p5s podcast a few weeks ago I specifically mentioned how much bullshit it was that gboro didn't have a deal yet.” Fellow online poker player FGEasiest, who hails from Germany, was impressed with the talent level of the Brunson 10: “This Brunson Team is just sick… Looks like they got all the online stars to their name… Good job Doyle.”
Also a member of the Brunson 10 is Chris moorman1Moorman (pictured at left), the #5 player in the PocketFives.com Online Poker Rankings. Moorman welcomed Gross into the DoylesRoom Brunson 10 with open arms: “Congrats Steve, gonna be great to have you on the team, let's start hitting some live final tables now! See you in san remo/monte carlo for sambucca shots?” In a previous interview, Moorman told PocketFives.com that he planned to “donate” in the two upcoming European Poker Tour (EPT) events.

Extending his congratulations to Gross was industry staple Cliff JohnnyBax Josephy, who commented, “Congrats. It is pretty clear that Doyle’s is signing the best players.” Josephy sits at #75 in the Rankings and held down the number one spot for over a year.

Gross is the current #1 player in the Rankings and has been a member of PocketFives.com since its third month in operation back in 2005. Gross edged out Moorman by just 0.39 points in the February 2009 Monthly PLB race. That month, he won Event #11 of the Full TiltOnline Poker Series (FTOPS) for $275,000, fueling his MPLB run. Last April, Gross tangled toe-to-toe with James Andy McLEOD Obst heads-up in the conclusion of a PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) event. Obst defeated the new Brunson 10 member in the end, but Gross still took home a six-figure payday.

Before Gross, the newest member of the DoylesRoom Brunson 10 was Alex AJKHoosier1 Kamberis (pictured at right), a three-time Triple Crown winner. In 2009, Kamberis chopped the PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) Main Event for nearly $800,000. Two months prior, he finished second in the Full Tilt Poker $1 Million Guaranteed for $135,000. Kamberis’ other claims to fame include taking down the PokerStars Super Tuesday, $100 rebuy, and $200 rebuy.

The six-member Brunson 10 stable now includes Gross, Kamberis, Moorman, Dani ansky451Stern, Amit amak316Makhija (pictured at left), and Zachary CrazyZacharyClark. On the first and third Mondays of every month at 9:00pm ET, the clan hits the felts for the Beat the Brunson 10 tournament. The contest will set you back $22, with $10 going towards the prize pool and $10 placed on your head as a bounty. For every Brunson 10 member you eliminate, you’ll bank $500. As an added bonus, the winner of the Brunson 10 will earn an extra $1,000.

Tonight marks the special St. Patrick’s Day version of the DoylesRoom Bounty Tournament. The event kicks off at 9:30pm ET this evening and will feature Doyle Brunson, Todd Brunson, and World Poker Tour (WPT) Southern Poker Championship winner Hoyt Corkins. Up to $50,000 in bounties can be claimed and, in commemoration of St. Patrick’s Day, every time a pro is eliminated, the players seated at the same table will collect $50. The marked pro and the player who knocked them off won’t reap the extra $50, however.

DoylesRoom offers a full refund of a first-time player’s $27.50 Bounty buy-in. Visit DoylesRoom and start playing with Gross today.
