A 20-year-old woman, a 22-year-old-man, and a 26-year-old man were arrested and charged in last week’s robberyof 2010 World Series of Poker Main Event champion Jonathan Duhamel(pictured) in his Montreal home. According to the Montreal Gazette, a fourth person was being questioned by police, while the three already in custody were charged with a potpourri of crimes, including breaking and entering, assault, forcible confinement, and possession of a stolen item. The accused are scheduled to appear in court today.

Only Duhamel’s black Rolex Submariner watch has been located. Still missing in action is the champ’s commemorative WSOP bracelet and an unspecified amount of cash. According to the Montreal Journal, however, if the bracelet is not found, WSOP officials have offered to replace the priceless heirloom. WSOP Media Director Seth Palansky told the Journal, “The tournament director, Mitch Garber, contacted Jonathan after the incident and informed him that the bracelet can be replaced.”

Duhamel, the first Canadian WSOP Main Event winner ever, was robbed last Wednesday, just a few days before Christmas, at 9:15am local time in Boucherville. The suspects allegedly knocked on Duhamel’s door and then stormed in when the champ answered. Duhamel was beaten and taken to a hospital for treatment.

The Journal added that one of the three individuals charged in the invasion was seen in public wearing the watch, which tipped off police: “André Robert Perron, 26, of Pierrefonds, was seen with the watch in the village of St. Clair, in the Beauce, a few days after the [robbery].” The same paper identified the others taken into custody as “Bianca Rojas-Latraverse, 20, of Saint-Sauveur and John Lemay, 22, of Pointe-Claire.”

Perron was charged with possessing stolen property and, according to CANOE, appeared with the other suspects in court on Wednesday. A bail hearing was scheduled for Thursday morning.

Duhamel had offered up to a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrests of the robbers and the recovery of the bracelet and watch. According to the Journal and police, tips from the public have been the driving force in the case thus far: “We can tell you that the investigation is progressing very quickly with information obtained by the public.” Police did not indicate whether any of the reward money was distributed.

On TwoPlusTwo, rumors circulated that Duhamel’s ex-girlfriend was named Bianca, leading some to believe that the 20-year-old arrested in Canada, Bianca Rojas-Latraverse, could be the same person. One poster on TwoPlusTwo wrote, “I remember some dude creating a thread about [Duhamel’s] ex-gf, warning him about her true nature, with a strange story about something she had done.”

Another TwoPlusTwo reader recalled the same thread, which was later quoted: “The OP was an ex of the girl, who then went with a friend of his and totally screwed him over, and was now trying to warn Duhamel about her. He was asking if anyone knew him and could pass the warning along, iirc.” The Globe and Mail confirmed that one of the people arrested was Duhamel’s ex-girlfriend (pictured).

Last week, Duhamel posted on the PokerStarsBlog that the assailants “tied me up and beat me, hitting me in the face and all over my body before leaving my house.” The robbers also threatened to kill the World Champion and fled with an unspecified number of 500-Euro bills, which, like the bracelet, have not been recovered.

Duhamel booked an $8.9 million win in the Main Event in 2010. In January of this year, he took down the European Poker Tour’s High Roller Event in Deauville for $272,000. According to the Hendon Mob, Duhamel is 15th on poker’s all-time money list with $9.6 million in career tournament earnings and is second in Canada behind only Daniel Negreanu ($14.6 million).

Duhamel’s bracelet (pictured) has his name engraved on it. Palansky added, “The bracelet Jonathan [has] is priceless thanks to its unique character and the fact that his name is engraved. It is easily identifiable.” Anyone with any information on its whereabouts is encouraged to contact police.
