The eight-time WSOP bracelet winner and GGPoker Global Ambassador Daniel Negreanu reached two final tables at the 2026 WSOP Online series on GGPoker this week. After coming seventh in the $10,000 WSOP Online PLO event for $71,409, Kid Poker then took part in the $25,000 WSOP High Roller Championship, and ran all the way to fourth place for $415,699, banking a total of over $487,000 across the two events for $35,000 in buy-ins.

PLO is Negreanu’s Jam Again

“I’m playing for first and nothing else.” 8-Time WSOP bracelet winner Daniel Negreanu.

As he said when he won the latest of his eight WSOP gold bracelets back in the summer, “PLO is my jam.” At that stage, Negreanu had just won his eighth WSOP title in the $100,000-entry High Roller PLO event for a top prize of $2,257,718, the biggest result of all his WSOP wins.

Back in July, ‘DNegs’ beat “Russian Bear” Artur Martirosian heads-up in the Pot-Limit Omaha High Roller in Las Vegas. This time around, the event cost $10,000 to play and Negreanu cashed for $71,409. . Austrian player Andreas Freund was the event’s winner, taking his first WSOP bracelet and preventing Negreanu from winning his ninth title.

The $10,000 WSOP Online PLO event drew 228 total entries and while Freund led the final seven players, Negreanu sat in second place, with Finland’s Samuli Sipila, Dutch player Dirk Gerritse, Germany’s Christopher Nguyen, Chinese WPT legend Biao Ding and Venezuelan Vito Jhonny Recchimurzo completing a star-studded final table.

When Negreanu lost a major pot with a jack-high flush to Freund’s queen-high flush, DNegs slipped to the bottom of the counts and was ousted soon after when he lost a PLO ‘flip’ to a straight to bust six places short of his goal.

“I’m playing for first and nothing else,” Negreanu said on his X account soon after. “It’s an ICM spot where he really shouldn’t ever be raising the turn without the nuts which is 45. I block 45 with the two 44.”

Championship Form for DNegs

With another super-talented field, the $25,000 High Roller Championship came back for the final day with Negreanu third in chips of the 14 survivors. By the time the eight-handed final table was reached, Kid Poker was still third and had a big stack of 60 big blinds to play with as he took on players like Casimir Seire, Pedro Neves, Ole Schemion, Erwann Pecheux, and Fabiano Kovalski.

Things got even better for Negreanu soon, as he knocked out Turkmenistan  player Parahat Nurmuhammedov for $146,97. Nurmuhammedov raised with jack-seven and shipped on the turn of a jack only to be called to his doom by Negreanu with pocket queens. Russian player Roman Emelyanov busted soon after for $190,599 before the German player Ole Schemion departed in sixth place for $247,176. By that point, however, the German had taken huge chunks from Kid Poker’s pile with ace-queen luckily scooping against Negreanu’s ace-king when Schemion paired twice.

Negreanu took out Neves in fifth place for $320,548 but then, with four left, Negreanu called off his stack with pocket tens pre-flop when Casimir Seire shoved with nine-eight offsuit. The Canadian poker legend was an 86% favorite but lost when Seire turned two pair and Negreanu missed draws to the river, cashing for $415,699 but falling short of the ultimate target – to win that ninth bracelet.

Soon after, Frenchman Erwann Pecheux busted in third place for $539,095. When Seire followed up on his fortune with quads heads-up, he won the bracelet and a top prize of $906,647 with the Brazilian pro and GGMillion$ final table regular Fabiano Kovalski forced to settle for a runner-up score of $699,120.

Can Kid Poker Seal Bracelet Nine in 2026?

“I can’t wait to head to the Bahamas and play for a bracelet in paradise!”

With several more events still to come, Daniel Negreanu’s quest to win his ninth WSOP bracelet may well still end in his home country of Canada. The WSOP Online Series runs through September 29, so DNegs still has a few shots at glory left before he flies home to Las Vegas and wife Amanda.

With just a few months to go until the Negreanus become parents, Negreanu will be looking to win gold again in The Bahamas as he travels to WSOP Paradise in December. There he’ll meet each of the two men who won gold at his expense in the two events above, with both Freund and Seire winning a $30,000 Super Pass to the WSOP Paradise Super Main Event and $5,000 for expenses.

The WSOP Paradise series moves from Atlantis Resort to the Baha Mar resort in Nassau this year, and Kid Poker can’t wait.

“I can’t wait to head to the Bahamas and play for a bracelet in paradise!” he said.
