Nicolas Milgrom is Making the WSOP Look Easy!

The 56th annual WSOP isn’t three weeks old and already, PokerStake Nicolas Milgrom has reached the money places on five separate occasions. With deep runs in Big O, Badugi, Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better and Seven Card Stud, Milgrom’s cashes already total close to $90,000. Now he’s sitting in sixth place of 18 remaining players in the $1,500-entry Event #39, which is a H.O.R.S.E.
The Frenchman is just getting started at the 2025 World Series of Poker.
Close Race in H.O.R.S.E. Event
With only 18 players still in the running for $197,923 up top, the latest WSOP event that Nicolas Milgrom has cashed in could prove the most lucrative – for him and his stakers. The PokerStake player, who has over $585,000 in live tournament earnings and a PokerGO Mixed Games trophy to his name is on the rise and the latest event is a great example of why.
In Event #39, a record-breaking H.O.R.S.E. attendance of 867 total entries has paused for one last sleep before the third and final day in the event. The chip leader, Russia player Andrey Zhigalov (2,455,000), is by no means out of reach, with Milgrom on 1,455,000 chips in sixth place of 18 survivors.
While Milgrom is a big threat, the former bracelet winners in the field all sit beliw him (apart from Zhigalov himself). Ari Engel (1,340,000), Marcel Vonk (800,000), Linda Johnson (785,000), Milgrom’s fellow PokerStake player Alex Livingston (340,000) and Blaz Zerjav (115,000) have all won Vegas gold before but face an uphill battle to put themselves in the best position for success this time around.
Milgrom’s Biggest Ever Score?
Cementing his mixed games reputation yet again, Event #39 could yield Milgrom’s biggest top prize of his career, with his previous best score being the $159,250 he received for taking down that PGT event in February of this year, yielding a 3008% return to his investors. The game type in that event? You guessed it, H.O.R.S.E., where Milgrom outlasted a final table featuring players such as PokerStake boss Joss Arieh and poker legend Steve Zolotow before beating Jerry Wong heads-up for the title.
The dedication and discipline required to deal with mixed game events is insane, but Milgrom’s temperament is ideally suited to its vagaries. After coming fifth in the $ 1,500 buy-in Pot Limit Big O (5 Card PLO 8 or Better) Event #27, Milgrom said this on his socials:
“Not excited about fifth but in grand scheme it was an insane run out of 1,499 players. Today $10K plo8. Work continues.”
That brief missive was followed by his summer statistics, which make for great reading for his backers. Having bought into eight tournaments for 11 ‘bullets’ (entries), Milgrom has spent $25,000 entering poker tournaments and cashed for $88,003, yielding a profit of $63,003 without counting what he will win in the H.O.R.S.E. event he’s chasing gold in. The minimum payout from here is $7,562 but only three places will cash for that amount and the French player sits in sixth position.
It will take an extremely unfortunate run of the cards to prevent Milgrom finishing in the top 15 for at least $9,260.

Milgrom’s Mission to Date
Immediately after he busted that Event #27 in fifth place, Milgrom was as determined as we’ve heard the mild-mannered Frenchman this series.
“Couldn’t get it done, I did everything in my power and it came down to poor runouts. Thank you all for your support. I haven’t said my last words.”
Milgrom had previously called it a ‘dream unlocked’ to reach his first WSOP final table in Big O and used the energy of that run to propel him further. We can also learn from players more in times that are tough. When he played the PLO event which he busted in on June 6th, Milgrom said: “Could’ve done better in Plo8, other two runs played themselves. I was sad about bust-out yesterday, entered new tourney anyways, fought through and cashed today. Will do better.”
If everything is on an upward curve with Nicolas Milgrom, then you’ll want to invest in the rest of his World Series. Anyone who already has known exactly how lucrative it can be. Find all of Nicolas Milgrom’s events on his official PokerStake staking page.
