It’s now easier than ever to surf PocketFives from a mobile device. This week, we launched an all-new Mobile version that we’ve been hard at work developing. The Mobile version features quick links to “News,” “Local,” “Forums,” “Rankings,” and “Off Topic.” Plus, Player Profiles and Member Notifications are readily accessible, just as they are in the regular version of PocketFives. Overall, we’ve tried to showcase the most important features for our Mobile site.

So, fire up your mobile phone, take a look at PocketFives Mobile, and let us know what you think. It is compatible with iOS 6 and Android.

If you’re surfing the web from your mobile phone and want to access the full site, or just prefer viewing the full site on your iPad, hit the “Click Here for Full Site” link at the bottom of the News page. If you’re on the full site and want to go back to the mobile site, look for a yellow link at the bottom of the page that says, “View Mobile Site.”

We’ve tried to make Mobile as straightforward as possible. All of our feature articles can be viewed by clicking on the link that says “News” at the very top of the page. You’ll see our most recent articles listed in the order they were published, and clicking on any of them will take you to its full text. All article images and links show up as normal, so you’ll get a very similar experience as you would on the regular PocketFives website. You can even comment on any article you’d like.

You’ll also find a link to “Local” in PocketFives Mobile at the top of the screen. You can browse local players’ latest live and online tournament cashes, forum posts, threads created, and screen names added. If you want to brag to your friends about a recent score, inquire about tournaments at a local casino, or find a home game to join, posting in Local is an excellent way to do so. And you can post in Local directly from Mobile, “Raise” other members’ posts, and comment on any entry you’d like.

The poker forumsare fully accessible in PocketFives Mobile. When you click “Forums” at the top of the screen, you’ll be taken to the full list of forums we offer, with our “Combined” view given near the top if you’re accustomed to viewing the poker forums that way. You can see all of the latest threads in PocketFives Mobile, create new ones, and comment on any existing thread or post. There are handy links at the top and bottom of the page to return to the forum you were previously on, so forum navigation is very similar to the full PocketFives site.

The PocketFives Poker Rankings helped make our site what it is today, so it was only fitting to add them to Mobile. If you click on “Rankings” at the top of the screen in Mobile, you can view ranked players and quickly navigate to their profiles. There, you can see a variety of data including recent cashes, location, and poker site names. Scroll down to the bottom of the Mobile Rankings page to view even more ranked players.

Finally, we’re always appreciative of the Off Topic community. In fact, OT has been helping PocketFives test Mobile this week and provided really helpful feedback. For each thread in OT and the poker forums, you can easily see the number of replies, the last reply’s author, and the last reply’s time stamp. Then, just click on the title of any OT thread to view it.

We’ve spent many meetings and hours testing and discussing Mobile, so if you have any suggestions or technical hiccups, please post them in this PocketFives OT thread. Our lead developer on this project, zordon (whose real name is Ram), has been fielding feedback and we’d love to hear from you.
