The PokerGO Tour PLO Series is underway in Las Vegas and with three events in the can, there have already been some big winners who fly the flag for PokerStake. Josh Arieh and Jeremy Ausmus have both cashed, with other running even deeper. There have been three events so far, and with players such as Sam Soverel taking titles, the standard of players has been high throughout.

Sam Soverel Wins Event #1 for $122,850

The United States player and PokerGO regular Sam Soverel won the opening event of the 2026 PGT PLO Series in Las Vegas for $122,850 after he beat Austrian counterpart Jonas Kronwitter heads-up. Other legends to make the money included PokerStake’s own Josh Arieh as well as his fellow American poker stars Sean Winter, James Chen and Michael Wang.

With eight events featuring buy-ins from $5,300 up to $26,000, the PokerGO PLO Series welcomed a field of 91 players to Event #1, with a prize pool of $455,000 on the line. Only 13 players made money, with $122,850 up top and John Riordan the unfortunate bubble boy. He lost out to recent Triton crusher and the most successful Brazilian tournament player to date, Joao Simao, before Josh Arieh (12^th for $11,375) exited near the final table in the PokerGO Studio at ARIA Resort & Casino.

Michael Wang busted to Sam Soverel early in the final table as the chip leader strengthened his advantage. Sean Winter was the next player to be busted by Soverel as the eventual winner took charge. When the Argentinian Ariel Mantel lost out in fifth and James Chen busted in fourth, Soverel was quiet, but he took out John Dapkus in third and with it grabbed a marginal lead into the heads-up match.

Jonas Kronwitter got his chips in with a massive draw to a flush and a straight with his pair of threes but couldn’t overtake Soverel’s better pair and the Austrian earned a runner-up finish worth  $79,625, with Soverel winning the top prize of $122,850.

Robert Chorlian Wins Event #2 for $135,150

The second event of the series also cost $5,300 to play and this time featured 106 total entries and a top prize of $135,150. With just 16 players cashing, early results for Martin Zamani (16^th for $7,950), regular PokerStake seller Jeremy Ausmus (15^th for $10,600), Dylan Weisman (13^th for $10,600), PokerStake favorite Chino Rheem (11^th for $13,250) and Joao Simao (10^th for $15,900), who added to the $10m he brought home from his Triton Jeju jaunt by adding ore profit.

After Jonas Kronwitter (9^th for $15,900) and Bryce Yockey (8^th for $21,200) just missed the final table, it was the turn of Nick Palma to depart. Busting in seventh place for $21,200, Palma later said simply, “Oh well, I’ll win the 10k event tomorrow instead.” You can find out whether that happened in the next section but after Palma’s exit in Event #2, Taylor Paur went out in sixth for $26,500.

After the elimination of Sean Rafael in third place for $60,950, the heads-up was between the noted PLO expert Lautaro Guerra and the relative newcomer Robert Chorlian. Surprisingly, it was the outsider who grabbed the trophy, with Chorlian’s win worth $135,510 to Guerra’s runner-up score of $84,800.

Roussos Koliakoudakis Wins Event #3 for $198,000

The Greek player Roussos Koliakoudakis claimed bragging rights in the $10,500-entry Event #3, as the stakes went up in the PokerGO Studio at ARIA on the Las Vegas Strip. With 66 entries, the event was a remarkable one for the winner, as it signified Koliakoudakis’ first PGT title and his biggest ever tournament score in one go. He began the final table in control as the chip leader and never really relinquished his grip on the title.

Plenty of big names made that final table, including the unfortunate bubble boy from earlier in the week, John Riordan. This time around, the American cashed for $26,400 in seventh place, one place below that of Jeremy Druckman, another regular on the PokerGO circuit.

After the exit of Ariel Mantel in fifth and Sean Rafael in fourth, regular  PokerStake seller Chino Rheem cashed for $89,100 in third place. The United States poker legend, who remains the record-holder for PGT series wins, lost with aces and sixes to Koliakoudakis’ aces and tens to set the Greek player up perfectly for a late run to glory.

The heads-up battle was a short one. In the very first hand of play, the Greek player’s 4:1 chip lead meant the chips went in, with his pair of kings holding against Brevin Andreadis’ pair of tens with a diamond flush draw and a straight draw. Kings meant Koliakoudakis was the king and he took home $198,000, with Andreadis winning $128,700 as a deserving runner-up.
