Who Are the Top Online Poker Players in Austria?

Standing pat in the PocketFives Country Poker Rankingsthis week at #14 worldwide was Austria. The top 20 players in the European nation had a combined PLB score of 76,741, about 700 behind the 13th ranked country, Ukraine. Austria is packed with top-tier poker talent, so let’s see who the top 10 players in Austria are, ordered by PLB score.
10. Dattebayo – Once ranked as high as #7 worldwide, Dattebayo plays on PokerStars under the user name WushuTM and has $3.4 million in lifetime tracked online cashes.
9. IM_ICM – Also once ranked as high as #7 worldwide, IM_ICM is now #362 and has $4.4 million in lifetime tracked earnings. He hails from Vienna and has been a member of PocketFives since mid-2009.
8. Ringelsdorf – He is two days removed from winning the PokerStars $215 No Limit Hold’em Turbo for $10,000. Earlier this month, he took down the iPoker $150,000 Sunday Special and collected $29,000.
7. Butzi – Won the PokerStars $109 Rebuy last week for $12,000 and is ranked #288 worldwide. He is also about to record his 1,000th tracked online MTT cash.
6. donvito1st – Finished third in May’s MiniFTOPS Main Event for $72,000. He also has wins in the PartyPoker $200,000 Guaranteed and PokerStars Sunday Second Chance, just to name a few high-profile tournaments.
5. mindgamer – Has the second largest single score of any Austrian PocketFiver at $278,000, which came in a TCOOP High Roller event in January. He plays as Jedi AllStar on Full Tilt and SkillzDeluxe on PartyPoker.
4. Gambler4444 – He chopped the PokerStars Sunday 500 three months ago and earned $58,000. Last year, he won and took third in the PokerStars Sunday Million, reeling in $230,000 combined.
3. king2173 – His big break came in mid-2011 when he won the Full Tilt $750,000 Guaranteed for $163,000. He took second in an FTOPS event the same year for another $131,000.
2. Schildy1984 – Took second in a MiniFTOPS event earlier this year for $75,000. In 2011, he won an FTOPS tournament for $341,000, the largest tracked score by an Austrian PocketFiver. He won a WCOOP tournament the same year for over $200,000.
1. young_diamond18 (pictured) – Real name: Manuel Blaschke. He is on the cusp of getting his $2 million cash badge. On August 2, he won the Full Tilt Benjamin and finished second in the PokerStars Big $109 for $17,000 total. He has multiple Sunday 500 wins.
