The World Series of Poker’s trip to the Playground Poker Club in Montreal has brought players of all levels out to play live poker in an attempt to win a fabled WSOP Circuit ring. Over the past few days, those players have met and played with stars of the felt such as eight-time WSOP bracelet winner Daniel Negreanu, the 2025 WSOP Main Event winner Michael Mizrachi and PokerStake seller Jonathan Little among others.

Breaking New Ground

The chance to play poker in the Playground Poker Club hasn’t passed Canada’s finest by this time. Daniel Negreanu has come to his home country and fans are thrilled to have their man back. Kid Poker will welcome his first child with wife Amanda at the end of 2026 but he’s in attendance at the PPC and he’s been busy.

Hosting a Meet-Up Game (MUG) with his fellow GGPoker Global Ambassador Michael Mizrachi, Negreanu has also been playing Circuit events at the felt, filming footage for his video blogs.  He also pitched up at the cash game tables.

“Played $1-$3 at Playground today,” Negreanu told his fans on X. “Turned $400 into $613 winning about 50 bbs an hour. If you play in the $1-$3 games I get into, it’s doable.”

Over the next week or so, Negreanu will be taking on some WSOP Circuit events too. Over the course of the last few days, there have been three winners already. But none of them were Daniel Negreanu.

Early Circuit Ring Winners

The opening event of the series featured a $500 buy-in, as the Super Circuit’s Kickoff event was won by Canadian native Sebastian Proulx. Other than a cash at the 2025 World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, Proulx’ last two dozen results have all been in Canada and came second in a WSOPC event in Kahnawake for $95,493 a year ago. This time, he topped the field in the $500-entry event to claim the top prize of CA$56,000.

In Event #2,  players such as Abby Merk and Will Givens were in the field. Even Corey Eyring came out of a self-imposed poker ‘retirement’ to pitch up and play. In the end, the field in the CA$500 Mini Main Event was an incredible 3,484 players, the largest attendance in the PPC’s glorious history. The winner of the event was Daniel Haim, who beat Paul Darymple heads-up at an all-Canadian final table, winning CA$185,000 in the process.

In the third event of the series so far, Frederic Moss won the top prize of CA$90,000 at another final table dominated by home country players. All of the final 10 were from Canada, with the total field of 1,194 eventually topped by an ecstatic Moss, who took home his first-ever WSOPC ring and the biggest score of his poker career so far.

Back PokerStake’s Finest

The next events are looming, so why not back someone to win them? PokerStake currently have four players in the forthcoming events, including Jonathan Little. The infamous poker coach and professional is selling action at between 1.05 and 1.20 in event such as the CA$5,000 Main Event, the CA$2,000 Deepstack Turbo and the CA$14,000 GGMillion$. Little’s record is such that you should back his action right away.

Ricky Mao is also playing a raft of events at the WSOP Super Circuit Series in Montreal, with Events #7, #10, #12, and #15 all up for sale. They include the same events that Jonathan is selling to, with the addition of the CA$6,000 PLO High Roller and we’d encourage you to trust in Ricky in this event, which he is selling to at just 1.05 markup.

Two others who are selling action to the WSOPC events this series are Ian O’hara and Alex Livingston. O’hara is selling one bullet to the GGMillion$, PLO High Roller and Super High Roller at markup of 1.07, 1.07 and 1.04 respectively, while the Canadian Livingston is selling two bullets to the GGMillion$ and Event #12, the CA$25,000 Super High Roller, with his action on sale at markup of between 1.03 and 1.06, and that is unmissable value.
