WSOP Super Circuit and Kid Poker Head to Canada
WSOP Super Circuit and Kid Poker Head to Canada

The World Series of Poker are bringing WSOP Circuit action to Canada and the award-winning poker venue of the Playground Poker Club in Montreal. With 18 WSOP-C ring events, the venue will welcome back a Canadian poker hero and provide thrills for thousands of poker players as hopefuls from across North America push to win a ring on the WSOP Circuit.

Kid Poker is Coming to Play

It’s been a long time since Daniel Negreanu has come to the Playground Poker Club in Montreal. But ‘Kid Poker’ is heading to the PPC this August, as he takes his penultimate poker trip before becoming a father. With the WSOP Paradise festival to come, the eight-time WSOP bracelet winner Negreanu can’t wait to attend the festival in his home country of Canada.

“Canada travel plans booked!” Negreanu told his fans on X. “First stop Montreal for the

WSOP Super Circuit at Playground. Then Vancouver to stream the GGPoker WSOP Main Event and others. I was cast for a sick reality show filming in Sept, signed the deal, but didn’t pan out in the end… maybe next year!”

While the reality show tease might come next year, Negreanu will be hoping to win his first WSOP Circuit ring after a career littered with success. You can read about the full WSOP Circuit Canadas schedule here but we love Event #3 at the WSOP Super Circuit Canada, which is the $400,000 guaranteed, $1,000-entry Mystery Bounty event. With three Day 1 flights taking place between August 29 and 31, Mystery Bounty events are always exciting, and Kid Poker is bound to bring the drama.

With more than CA$14 million in guarantees throughout the series, the WSOP Super Circuit series takes place from August 26 to September 12, 2026.

Canada Making History

With the series the first time a Super Circuit schedule has touched down in Canada, the former Global Poker Award-winning PPC venue is the perfect place to host such a prestigious event.

“We are proud to produce the first WSOP Super Circuit in Canada and very pleased that this event will take place in Montreal,” said Sarne Lightman, the General Manager at GGPoker. “Quebecers are internationally recognized for hosting major, high-quality tournaments, and we are confident that this event will be a tremendous success.”

With the Main Event alone having a $10 million guarantee, the WSOP-C series could be one of the biggest poker events ever held in Canadian poker history. WSOP Circuit Gold Rings are not a new thing, but an 18-event Championship series in Canada definitely is.

Back in October of 2025, Cyprus hosted the inaugural WSOP Super Circuit series, and with the first Canadian edition putting the PPC – and Montreal – front and center of the brand’s worldwide travels, 18 players will enjoy huge top prize and a ring to remember their efforts by.

PokerStake Players Selling Action

Two PokerStake players will be selling action to the series, with Jonathan Little and Renji ‘Ricky’ Mao both travelling to Canada to win a title. Jonathan is selling to a large number of events, with his markup at between 1.05 and 1.25 for the series. With the events he’s playing mostly between the CA$2,000 and CA$5,000 buy-in level – including the Main Event – Jonathan is also selling to the CA$14,000 GGMillion$ event and at only 1.05 markup, we’d tip that tournament as one to invest in.

Renji – also known as Ricky – is also playing an expanded schedule, including the CA$25,000 Super High Roller Event #12. He’s selling at just 1.04 markup in that one and has plenty of experience at that buy-in level. Renjiis also selling three bullets to the CA$5,000 Main Event, with those bullets on sale at between 1.25 and 1.28 markup.

Whoever you’re backing via our official WSOP Circuit Canada staking page, good luck at the felt or at home sweating along with your investment.

And you’re following Kid Poker to Montreal, be sure to congratulate the soon-to-be father on Lil’ Kid Poker’s imminent arrival. We think Daniel may well boost the Negreanus’ nappy fund in the land of his birth.
