PokerStake Trio Book High Fives as EPT Barcelona Begins

The 2026 PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) Barcelona festival is only a few days old, but there is already plenty to celebrate for three PokerStake players. While five players have won ‘Spadie’ trophies as event winners, Brandon Wilson, Cherish Andrews and Jessica Vierling have already booked important results for anyone backing them to succeed in the European hotspot of Barcelona on the European Poker Tour.
Early Results Bode Well for Brandon
Finland’s Elias Suhonen has claimed the biggest score of the festival’s early events, winning the €10,200-entry No Limit Hold’em event for €114,200 but while Suhonen took the plaudits, several familiar names also went into profit at the felt at Casino Barcelona, including Brandon Wilson.
The event, which saw a total of 31 entries, saw Brandon Wilson finish fifth for a score of €28,600. Already in profit, the American, who we spoke with last year for this exclusive deep dive into what makes him tick, said that he has many considerations when putting action on sale on PokerStake.
“I usually decide which events to sell on PokerStake based on the ones that fans are sweating the most, things like WSOP, PGT or the Triton Poker Series, events that the fans like to watch and engage in and have a good time sweating,” he said. “They get their money’s worth for entertainment value and cheering for the player they believe in by buying their action and I usually price it based on the market.”
At a final table featuring rivals such as the eventual winner Suhonen, Nick Seward, Jean-Noel Thorel and Mehdi Chaoui, Brandon’s strong performance looks good for his chances in the rest of the series. While Suhonen eventually defeated Seward heads-up to secure the €114,200 top prize, Wilson’s winning start in a compact but highly experienced field is another feather in his cap.
Cherish Andrews Adds Yet Another EPT Cash
Cherish Andrews was another player to make her mark during the opening days in Barcelona, reaching the final table of the €5,200 No Limit Hold’em 6-Max event. The tournament attracted 37 total entries, creating a €185,000 prize pool, with Andrews battling her way into the final five where she ultimately bowed out for a result worth €17,050.
She wasn’t the only PokerStake player to run very deep, with our hot tip from the series preview, Japan’s Kyosuke Nagami, coming fourth for €21,100. After his elimination, the Finnish player Toni Kaukua came third for €29,150, with the heads-up battle locked in between Sweden’s Erik Lindqwist and Finland’s Luka Sorainen.
It was the Swede Lindqwist who emerged victorious, taking down Sorainen heads-up to claim €68,200 and a new career-best live tournament score. Sorainen took home €43,950 as runner-up, but with two PokerStake players in the top five money places, it was another strong event for our players.

Jessica Vierling Makes Deep Run in €1,100 Event
Finally, the third fifth-place finish belonging to a PokerStake seller was confirmed when Jessica Vierling made her first final table finish of the EPT Barcelona series. The American came fifth in the €1,100 No Limit Hold’em single re-entry event, outlasting 246 other entries on her way to a score of €13,450.
The event was a notable one for featuring the recent WSOP bracelet winner Jamie Dwan. The British pro, who won the $100,000 High Roller in Las Vegas, ousting his hero Daniel Negreanu at the final table and dedicating the victory his sick mother, came fourth for €17,480 in this event.
After Mathias Siljander took third place for €22,720, Simone Demasi took on Francisco Iwan Molina heads-up for the title, with Demasi winning €40,065 as runner-up and Molina’s victory worth €42,635. For Molina, the win was even more staggering, coming as it did in his second-ever cash in a professional ranking event. Taking sixth place in a Madrid mystery bounty event some time ago, Molina’s latest result was his first outright win and easily the biggest score of his career so far.
